Dade Partners is designed to bring together business leaders and government officials of every level, including mayors, city and county managers and heads of various departments. It brings together representatives of the media, health and welfare agencies, law enforcement, various community agencies, reflecting local, state and federal interests, civil clubs, cultural organizations, university and college personnel, business, industry, labor, school advisory committees, the clergy and all other segments of our community that have a vital interest in continuation of a viable school system.

Dade Partners promotes economic development in this community. It improves the quality of our work force and builds a sense of pride in employment and civic service. It also provides for greater opportunities for advanced education among our high graduates and more vocational and technical for our work force.

OBJECTIVES

• To tap the expertise, skills, and resources of the many organizations, businesses, institutions, and agencies within Miami-Dade County
• To design and implement curriculum to meet the multicultural needs of our community
• To assure that Miami-Dade County Public School students will successfully make the transition from the schoolhouse to the workplace
• To improve the image of the school system within the community
• To broaden the perspective of the educational community through interaction with representatives of the greater Miami community.

As a Dade Partner, you will be willing to invest by doing the following:

• Adopt a school
• Participate in a speakers bureau explaining careers, travels, hobbies, or special areas of expertise to students
• Provide tours and opportunities for students to explore career alternatives through site visits
• Provide employment or training opportunities for students
• Participate in career fairs or cultural art days
• Sponsor field trips or other special events
• Donate incentive awards
